The "super-premium" America.com domain name is being auctioned off with a reserve price of $1m.
Internet Media Consultants SA has been hired as the broker for the sale, in partnership with GreatDomains.com, a division of Sedo.com.

The online auction is scheduled to run from 2pm EST on 22 May to 2pm EST on 29 May.
"We have already had an amazing amount of interest from corporations and investors around the world," said Paolo Belcastro, director of Internet Media Consultants.

"This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and the domain name will most likely never be sold again."
Recent domain sales include Sex.com ($12.5m), IRS.com ($12.5m), Fund.com ($9.9m), Porn.com ($9.5m), Diamond.com ($7.5m) and Pizza.com ($2.6m).
